Why is regional trending?
1st July 2020
2020 is the year that most of us will never forget, not only personally but Australians as a whole. From drought and flood, to bushfires and a global pandemic, it has changed the way we live and how we interact.
Amongst the changes, one trend has started to arise: that is of city dwellers moving to the country. No doubt many of us have flicked on Escape from the City at some point and been inspired to find new digs away from the hustle and bustle.
According to the Australian Bureau of Statistics there has been a regional property boom, with the data also showing a shift towards working remotely from a large office environment due to external forces. A report released last week has found that it's the “millennials” that are most likely to make the move, due to their youth and enthusiasm, their desire to own their own home with more space for their young families.
Towns that serve as regional hubs and are within commuting distance of major cities are gaining popularity, with Tamworth being one of those centres. We may not have been able to have open houses or walk-throughs recently, but our real estate and new estate sales have gone through the roof. And builders are busy creating new homes with the support of the latest government grants available.
So what does that have to do with DPARTMNT?With the increase in professionals to town, it’s important these businesses have access to high quality services. Furthermore, we can provide a professional environment in which people new to town can make connections and network with like-minded people. We are seeing firsthand more interest from people looking to move from the larger centres and telecommute back to their city office from their Tamworth desk. These people are looking for the setup without the extra cost of setting up their own.
What they find is a full service remote working option that feels like the city, but with affordable housing and a minimal commute to an office with all the perks.
If you’re ready to Escape from the City, DPARTMNT has the tech and space to make it work.
